Lyre is a painting that took me about a year to complete. I created the rough drawing last summer when I was going through a difficult time in my life but lacked inspiration and the mindset to finish it until now. So over time he has developed into a symbol of my past hardship and portrays the pain that I endured.

Pencil and Photoshop. The process took about 10 hours to complete over 12 months.

Cotz...
He took about 4hrs to paint. I tried a different technique with this one, keeping the paint stokes really rough where details are not important.
Spring is coming again but unfortunately it is cloudy outside my window today.
Longingly, this image reminds me of the ocean with its soft colors. Maybe he is the sea personified; which definitely did not come to mind when I was creating the piece.

Soooo.... I have not done a figure drawing/painting in a long time and I thought that I could update my portfolio to reflect current skills.
This is a painting I did in Photoshop using a grid. About 12-14 hours went into it, which is about a 1/3 of the time spent on a painting like my "Anthony" piece. I wanted this one to be a bit more painterly, so I did not noodle as much.

This painting illustrates Lucy Westenra’s return to her tomb after abducting a child for feeding; her white wedding dress stained with the blood of the innocent. It is the first time Lucy’s vampire form is revealed after she was killed by Dracula.

He was inspired by a song and the result of feeling alone... It took me awhile to get this one out of my head because I wanted to capture precisely what I saw in my mind. I was not going to be satisfied with a happy accident. Therefore, it was more about emotions than a narrative.
